I use with Canon 5D mark III Review by Sam McQueen

The Komputerbay 64 card has worked well for me so far! No problems. It was a less expensive alternative to the other cards. I use it with my 5D Mark III for RAW pictures and RAW video. All good! ***This review was posted on: http://www.amazon.com/product-reviews/B009JCL55Y*** (Posted on 17/06/2014)
Figuring out raw video Review by Kyle Lowe
Rating
This is an interesting product. I read somewhere that the KomputerBay cards are rejects from other companies, I don't know the truth. But nonetheless, the 64GB cards work great for 5DmkIII raw video. I did order a 128GB card initially, and although the price isn't bad, it is not fast enough to handle the data. Do not buy the 128GB card for raw video right now, don't make my mistake and have to return it. The 64GB card is great and can hold a decent amount of footage. Good luck and happy shooting. ***This review was posted on: http://www.amazon.com/product-reviews/B009JCL55Y*** (Posted on 17/06/2014)

Some reviews are positive. Some reviews report dud cards. I suppose its a gamble but odds are, your card will work and work well. I use it with a Canon 5D mark III to shoot video, both compressed and RAW with magic lantern. it works for both. i'm able to shoot full 1920x1080 RAW continuously. no complaints. ***This review was posted on: http://www.amazon.com/product-reviews/B009JCL55Y*** (Posted on 17/06/2014)

Corrupted on me Review by Subaru
Rating
I bought my first KomputerBay card back at the beginning of the month. I was somewhat hesitant at first because I've read about some people having issues; like it was a toss up if one would receive a good card or not. I decided to then give this card a try, seeing how it's half the price of Lexar's version and that I'm on a tight budget.I needed a 1000x card because I'm shooting on a Canon 5D Mark III with Magic Lantern. My plan is to shoot at least 1920x1080 raw continuously and slowly work up to 2.5K.When I first received the card, I ran some benchmark tests and did some test shots. Everything ran smoothly. On my first gig (photography event) with this card, I decided to shoot regular 1080p h.264 format because I knew the event will go on for hours and shooting raw would eat up too much space. Anyway, within the first 15minutes of shooting, my camera displayed an error message and the LCD showed there's no memory card in slot 1 (CF). I shut my camera off and removed the battery for a bit. I tried recording again, but I would get same messages within a few seconds.Luckily for me, my SD card is 64gb and I quickly switch to that and put the Komputerbay away. Later on, I tried to retrieve the footage I shot on the Komputerbay card, but I couldn't copy, drag, cut, nor move any of the files. I couldn't even format the card on my computer nor on my camera; basically I couldn't do anything. I was fortunate that the card became corrupted at the beginning of my gig and not during the middle or the end.I've since returned the card.... and bought another. I shot a quick fashion video last week (raw video at 60fps) and thus far it's working fine. I will change my rating once I shot enough on the card.***Edit 04/06/14***
It's been nearly 8 months since the corrupted KB card occurred. So far I have three Komputerbay 1000x 64gb and they have been working flawlessly. I do highly recommend these cards over their more expensive counterparts. I've used these cards extensively (1920x1080 raw and regular h.264) and there haven't been any hiccups. I do advise anyone who purchases these cards, or any other cards for that matter, to stress & bench test the cards prior to using them professionally. ***This review was posted on: http://www.amazon.com/product-reviews/B009JCL55Y*** (Posted on 17/06/2014)

Great for RAW video on the 5D3, Review by JamesW

I bought a couple of these for the sole purpose of recording raw video on the Canon 5D Mark III.
I read on the forums that sometimes you get the ones that aren't as fast as they should be.
I did not have that problem with the 2 that I bought.
They are super fast, and super economical compared to the Expensive Lexars.
I have had no problems with them for the week I was using them to record video at a week long event.
Excellent CF Cards for sure, no need for the expensive ones. ***This review was posted on: http://www.amazon.com/product-reviews/B009JCL55Y*** (Posted on 17/06/2014)

My friends have ordered this card and it's been a hit or miss with benchmarking. Fortunately my card worked and tested well. Great product for a great price Review by Frame25

After doing some research, I decided to take a chance on this 64gb card by KomputerBay (I needed a fast card for shooting RAW video with my Canon 5d Mark III). I was a little nervous because the company is relatively unknown--but the "name brand" cards are so insanely overpriced, I figured it couldn't hurt to try this one out.I've used it to shoot full 1920 x 1080 raw video at 24fps on several occasions now, and it has worked beautifully. The card is fast and stable, making it a fantastic deal considering several other brands charge three times as much for the same thing. Great product at a great price! ***This review was posted on: http://www.amazon.com/product-reviews/B009JCL55Y*** (Posted on 17/06/2014)
No issues so far Review by George B. Powell "WhasianRockStar"

I understand that when using these cards it's somewhat luck of the draw. I seem to have gotten a good card, regularly writing at 90 MB/s so no problem with continuous recording at 1080p 24fps with my 5D mark III raw video.I also have started using it as my primary card when shooting still photos at weddings. At first I loved how fast I could shoot, but started getting nervous about putting an entire wedding's worth of images on one card. I now couple this with the Sony 64gb SD card as a real-time backup. It obviously takes away from the speed advantage, but at least I don't have to worry about running out of memory OR a card failure while shooting a wedding. When pulling data off the card with my Transcend USB 3.0 card reader onto my Raid 5 esata array, I get approx 100 MB/s transfer rate.
Will probably get another ***This review was posted on: http://www.amazon.com/product-reviews/B009JCL55Y*** (Posted on 17/06/2014)

We used this Komputerbay 64GB card (1000x) for RAW video on the 5D mark III and didn't have any issues with it. As documented on Magic Lantern's site, sometimes you need to let the shot roll for a few seconds before the write speed gets up to optimal levels. I'd consider buying this again for the next project. It would be really helpful to have two cards rather than waiting to offload the footage each time. 64GB when shooting RAW video goes really quick (I think around 7 minutes of footage). ***This review was posted on: http://www.amazon.com/product-reviews/B009JCL55Y*** (Posted on 17/06/2014)

Excellent card if you FOLLOW THE RULES! Review by C. Taylor "actingnurse"
Rating
OK - Like most, I picked these cards up to shoot RAW with my Canon 5D Mark 3. I must admit after reading some of the reviews about corruption on the cards, I have been terrified I'd lose footage and the same would happen to me. I'm following all of the rules and recommendations and just shot my Doritos Crash the Superbowl commercial in RAW on these two cards - Filled one card and half of the other over 6 hours of shooting.
First, you must format the cards in the camera (with the Magic Lantern hack installed), then format them on the PC using EXFAT. When formatting or dumping footage you HAVE to use USB 3.0! The chips in the cards will corrupt if you step down to USB 2.0! Make sure the pc you are dumping to has 3.0 ports. The recommended reader for the cards is the Kingston FCR-HS3 (USB 3.0) which I also picked up from Amazon - it's relatively cheap and works great. My editing PC is a few years old so it only has USB 2.0 - to get around this I picked up a 4TB USB 3.0 external hard drive - dumped the cards straight to the hard drive through my laptop which has USB 3.0 ports. I then hooked the external drive up to the editing pc and pulled the files off that way. Worked beautifully. So far the cards are performing great! Just be careful and follow the rules!!! ***This review was posted on: http://www.amazon.com/product-reviews/B009JCL55Y*** (Posted on 17/06/2014)
A MUST HAVE FOR RAW Review by S|R

A must for any Magic Lantern user, I have bought 3 of these and with the newest nightly build (as of september 31st) and I can film in full 1080 raw at 24p which is amazing. I haven't had any problem with 720 at 60p either, which is awesome because the 720p of camera raw is about as sharp as the h.264 garbage off the 5d Mark III. Very good quality (made in same factory as Lexar) Review by Aperture Science "Aperture Science"
Rating
These cards are as good as the big boys but don't expect it to be perfect when you are running cameras on modified firmware. There is a good reason that Canon and other big manufacturers do have 4k being stored on CF cards. Look at blackmagic and RED...they are using fullsize SSD's that support up to 500MBs write.th that said, if you want to run ML firmware, these are the cards to try. Komputerbay customer support will do the best they can and even have experience with people running such firmware. He recommended me to use the SD formatter from sdcard.org. I know this is a CF card, but this tool formats it with fat32 and to the does not wipe special storage space for card info (this helps devices know what to expect from the card)Here are a few tips I have for you.
1: Never use a USB 2 device to read or write to these cards. I would not trust any firewire device also. Use only UDMA 7 (I have tested the kingston and it works great) Avoid sandisk all in one at all costs (even usb 3) They had the card reading at only 40MBs.2.Format with your camera or SD formatting tool from the SD organisation (free tool)3. Dont use on old OS's (I would only trust windows 7/8 and maybe latest mac OSX)4. Call komputerbay before doing a low level format on the card (you may damage it or corrupt it)
5. Almost no devices support the full 150MBs including your 5DMK3. (as far as I know) I think they top out at 105MBs or so...or as low as 95MBs.
6. Before you blame the card or send it back, try out the great customer service they have. They will ask you for exact model number of your equipment and may recommend alternative if it does not play well with these new ultra fast ultra large cards.7. Good Luck, card speeds may vary and change over time, dont blame komputerbay, blame the technology. Happens with all cards.
This is a quote from my KomputerBay 128GB 1000x review.
I now own two Komputerbay cards (such a stupid name). I happen to get a bad card as my 2nd one. It would work and format just fine on the PC (Win 8 and UDMA 7 CF reader) but it would not format or work on the D800 or 5D mark III. In a odd way, I was happy to talk to Komputerbay customer service. They seem to have a single tech but he is the most helpful customer service person I have spoken with. I had him running around checking serial numbers and testing on different computers and it came down to replacement of the card. They paid for shipping both ways. A surprise was that they offered to replace my working 128GB 1000X card. Why would they do that? Because no device would support the speed of the card when it came out but since then, new devices came out and they happen to replace the controller inside the card (They are made in the same factory as Lexar as I was told) New cards are back and they seem to be faster than what my kingston memory card reader will go. About 120+MBs. I had issues with sandisk in the past and customer service was terrible. Komputerbay might be a "generic" brand but products are as good as the big guys and price is almost too good to be true. Komputer bay does read these reviews and they will email or call you if you have any issues. I hope they read this and send me some free SD cards ;) ***This review was posted on: http://www.amazon.com/product-reviews/B009JCL55Y*** (Posted on 17/06/2014)
So far so good Review by metabolics

So far so good. All the cards work great and can do full 1920x1080 at 24p. They're not fast enough for full HD at 30p but I rarely shoot like that anyway so its fine for me. ***This review was posted on: http://www.amazon.com/product-reviews/B009JCL55Y*** (Posted on 17/06/2014)

The card arrived when expected. It is as described. It works with my Canon 50D. It arrived with an individual CF case (some individual marketed units do not). ***This review was posted on: http://www.amazon.com/product-reviews/B009JCL55Y*** (Posted on 17/06/2014)

Great, reliable card for 50D RAW Video Review by Ernie
Rating
I bought the Komputerbay 64GB 1000X card for use on my 50D for raw video after having read about it being used in 50D's and 5Dmk2's and mk3's on the Magic Lantern forum. At ~$115 it cost much less than any other option. To date I have not had any real issues with the card. The card has ben consistently writing ~70mb/s without so much as a hiccup.
At first it did slow down when it was close to being full, but after a reformat or two and a bit more use, that issue seems to have gone away.
I highly recommend this card for it's performance and for it's economical value. I'm definitely buying a second one very soon. ***This review was posted on: http://www.amazon.com/product-reviews/B009JCL55Y*** (Posted on 17/06/2014)

I needed a fast, high capacity CF card to record raw video on my 5D Mark II. This card from Komputerbay is exactly that, while costing much less than other 1000x CF cards. I'm very satisfied with it, and will probably buy more cards from Komputerbay in the future ***This review was posted on: http://www.amazon.com/product-reviews/B009JCL55Y*** (Posted on 17/06/2014)

FAST cards that get the job done Review by Jordan Y. Ewert

I've been using this card for about 2 months now and it's the only reason I was able to shoot RAW video with the Magic Lantern software on my 5D MarkII camera. These cards are indeed fast and for the price I highly recommend purchasing one if you need it. ***This review was posted on: http://www.amazon.com/product-reviews/B009JCL55Y*** (Posted on 17/06/2014)

Great value for the money especially if you have ever fried a card testing one of ML's nightly builds or testing your own, the customer service department is helpful and responsive. How often do you find a discounted product with good customer service, Iv'e contacted some larger Makers and it takes days, After having some questions they responded in less than 12 hours and were very informative ***This review was posted on: http://www.amazon.com/product-reviews/B009JCL55Y*** (Posted on 17/06/2014)

Both of Mine Work! Review by Xiong, E.

I'm using this product to record RAW video on my 5D Mark III. So far, I have no issues with the two cards that I bought. The average write speed is around 85 MB/s so no drop frames. I'm going to need to order more to do anything productive because these cards hold so little when it comes to RAW video...yes, I would buy them again ***This review was posted on: http://www.amazon.com/product-reviews/B009JCL55Y*** (Posted on 17/06/2014)

Komputerbay 64gb professional compact flash card Review by D. S. Woodhouse "Grandma"

This was a Christmas present for my son who films movies and youtube shorts. When he first put it on his wish list I ordered it right away. Then he came up and told me it wouldn't work with his camera. I silently screamed. A couple of hours later he came up and said he wanted it again because after doing searches on the internet he was such it would work. He was very happy with it and said it greatly improved what he could now do with his camera. ***This review was posted on: http://www.amazon.com/product-reviews/B009JCL55Y*** (Posted on 17/06/2014)

I'm using it in my Canon 5D Mark III and have had no problems with it. I'm not a professional, nor have I done any formal performance tests, but I've had no problems shooting continuous raw and the buffer seems to go on forever. Bought this card specifically for use with Magic Lantern (a firmware hack for the Canon EOS 5D Mark III). The 14 Bit RAW recording in video mode requires a VERY intensively fast sustained write-speed. This card holds up beautifully, no dropped frames and no complaints. I use this for Magic Lantern RAW recording. Works GREAT Review by HiroNakamura

Don't believe what any other haters may say. This is the cheapest card available, and it will shoot RAW video. I've only used it on the 5D MK3 and can vouch for it 100%. Would purchase again. Shooting in 1080p yields about 12 minutes until the card is full. I also have the 32GB card which only holds about 6 minutes, and I would recommend buying the 64GB over 32GB if you're just testing the waters because you will wish you had more recording time.
One piece of advice for RAW recording enthusiasts, format your 1000x cards in ExFat, or else any files larger than 4 gigs will be split and personally it's annoying. This means you can't format in camera, but that's not the card's fault.
Get this card.

I bought a new Nikon D800, and needed a CF card which had a decent size/speed/price ratio. I usually just go with the best Sandisk available, but this chip met the criteria, so I took the chance at the purchase. It's been a couple weeks with a few thousand pictures, so far without issues. I use the Transcend USB 3.0 card reader (https://amzn.com/B0056TYRMW) (yes it's UDMA 7) to transfer the files to my system. So far it's fast and reliable. I'll probably order a few more of these at some point. ***This review was posted on: http://www.amazon.com/product-reviews/B009JCL55Y*** (Posted on 17/06/2014)
