Works great Review by Sacky
I bought the memory to upgrade an old XP desktop so I could upgrade it to Windows 7. With 1 1/2 GB it worked great and now I have a computer to sell for more than with XP and less than half the present RAM. Don't worry about the "generic" description to the single stick as it is identical to the other two. This is not my first Komputerbay purchase as they have always been reliable. ***This review was posted on:*** (Posted on 05/06/2014)
Worked fine Review by LDOceanCity
The RAM worked fine. I put it in, it ran no problems. This RAM was really inexpensive but it worked well. I misread the description and thought it was more RAM than I got, but that was the description's fault at Amazon, and my old computer couldn't handle more than 1 GB anyway. ***This review was posted on:*** (Posted on 05/06/2014)
Hard to find RAM for older computers Review by bva21
We needed to find some compatible RAM modules for our old "never-say-die" IBM ThinkCenter machines. We have in service two different "versions" of these old IBMs that use different types of RAM modules. Their excellent photos of the product made it very easy to select the correct modules.
We have a "Amazon Prime" account, so of course, they were delivered within two business days in excellent packaging. I have purchased four different times from this vendor and each time the product worked as advertised. Truly a 5 Star product.

This was exactly what I ordered, shipping was quick, packaging kept it safe. My 11 year-old son was excited to be able to upgrade our old, very slow PC by himself. ***This review was posted on:*** (Posted on 05/06/2014)
Operational for my use Review by Cherry
A computer tech found these for me. Said I should order these since my computer is so old and operational for what I use it for. However, didn't really seem to fix the original problem I was having with my system. Almost had to force these in place. Held my breathe and didn't break anything. ***This review was posted on:*** (Posted on 05/06/2014)

Unfortunately I ordered the wrong product, but I give 5 stars because of the price and the quick delivery time as well as their follow up to ensure I was satisfied with their product. I would definitely order from Computerbay in the future. ***This review was posted on:*** (Posted on 05/06/2014)
Older systems Review by Bobby L. Donald
I Have an older XP system that only had 512 MB. Needing to upgrade I Ordered 2 GB of ram from Komputerbay.
The ram was shipped the same day and came in on time and in great shape. I would recommend anyone who has an older system,
or is in need for good-quality parts to use Komputerbay. ***This review was posted on:*** (Posted on 05/06/2014)
Good service Review by Marty
It turns out that I wasn't able to actually use the RAM I bought due to limitations of the server, however, I can say that the RAM was shipped to me on time, packaged well, and I had no issues with payment.

Old style memory that I really needed Review by Murray
Having had problems finding sdram memory, I turned to Amazon. I found the memory I needed at a very reasonable price considering it's basically obsolete. It arrived on time, and worked flawlessly when I installed it. Very happy with the product and timeframe that I was able to get it. ***This review was posted on:*** (Posted on 05/06/2014)

Worked for My Old PC Review by Kathy M
I have an older PC with an MSI KM2M Combo-L motherboard that had only a 256 MB memory in it, and I wanted to dedicate it to play only old games that my husband and I liked, like Bubble Bobble, Wolfenstein 3D, etc. Everything was working well, except it was running slow, so I decided to look for a memory match. Well, that wasn't so easy because they don't make this memory any more and a tech told me to expect to pay a lot of money for even a used one.
I decided to look on Amazon and found it at KOMPUTERBAY - 1GB (2x 512MB) PC133 SDRAM 133MHz DIMM - Limited Compatibility. I not only found just what I needed, but it was brand new, reasonably priced and fit into my computer just fine. My computer recognized it, and everything was fine, even the shipping was very efficient.
I would definitely recommend doing business with this company, and will return for more business if I need to. ***This review was posted on:*** (Posted on 05/06/2014)

1GB SDRAM Review by Ryan Lester
I bought this for my Gateway Essiental that I was upgrading so it can run Windows Xp. It worked great. The computer was a little too old to have 1 GB of RAM. It only supported 800MB. (100MB per Stick). That is not the manufacturer's problem that is my problem. ***This review was posted on:*** (Posted on 05/06/2014)

Works fine Review by David Mellinger
I have owned a Dell 1012 for a couple of years, but they are pretty slow. I upgraded the memory in Europe about 6 months ago, and it made a significant difference in speed. I liked it so much, I bought another 1012 and added the additional memory from Komputer Bay. It seems to work fine. They both power up at the same speed. ***This review was posted on:*** (Posted on 05/06/2014)

I got this memory stick in short order. When it came in, it was exactly as it was advertised, and was in excellent condition. It ended up that I couldn't use it in the machine I had intended it for, but I half expected that when I ordered it, so there was no foul there. ***This review was posted on:*** (Posted on 05/06/2014)

On time and no problems, Review by Marienfelde76
We upgraded a senior neighbors "antique" computer so it could use more modern software that required more than 256K of memory. The product was delivered on time, actually early, and after installation, worked as expected. After about a month there has been no problem so we don't expect any issues to arise. Our neighbor is much happier now that she can plan her card games on line in a Pale Moon browser rather than Internet Exploder. ***This review was posted on:*** (Posted on 05/06/2014)

I used this memory to upgrade a REALLY old computer that was using 2 256MB sticks of RAM. Turns out the motherboard cannot deal with the 1GB of RAM, but I tested both sticks and they work great. Picture is of Samsung Modules That isn't what you get Review by TestGuy_12345
I ordered this 512mb x2 pack, and x1 512mb stick, same vendor same pictures.
Only 1 module was Samsung, the other 2 were generic no-name junk.
The Samsung Module performed well, but the other 2 were generic crap that won't function in most VIA based Tualatin compatible motherboards. I was still able to use those in two different i810 Intel based coppermine compatible boards, but that was not what I purchased them for.
If you buy these don't expect them to be Samsung modules compatible with VIA chipsets like the picture shows. ***This review was posted on:*** (Posted on 05/06/2014)

Not compatable with dell dimension 2100 Review by George Fatkin
This product does not work in my computer. I have a Dell Dimension 2100 with 2 128MB PC133 SDRAM memory sticks. When I inserted just one 512 board, the computer would not take it. The max memory for this computer is 512MB. When I inserted 1 128MB with the 512, the computer only recognized the 128MB. You should be able to use just 1 of the two slots for memory. ***This review was posted on:*** (Posted on 05/06/2014)
Inexpensive RAM for older systems Review by T. W. Trussell
I bought a cheap surplus DELL and ordered this RAM. It didn't work as I expected! Well, drat. I pulled out one stick, which worked fine, and I swapped the other stick and it worked fine. This stupid DELL Optiplex just couldn't use both at the same time. Then I went back and re-read the specs for the system over and over VERY CAREFULLY and found another set of RAM sticks to order (from another vendor) that worked perfectly. (The other vendor actually went to the trouble to list the specific model DELL system as being compatible. Sometimes that is very important!)

I'm giving this one a perfect rating because even though it didn't work in the system I ordered it for, the RAM was good, and it shipped fast. It was a decent price. I didn't even return it; I think I can use it in another system I have. Maybe. ***This review was posted on:*** (Posted on 05/06/2014)

Excellent set of RAM memory Review by Fito
Worked perfectly on an old PCChips M810 version v5.0
This motherboard supports up to 266MHZ (133x2) FSB and up to Athlon XP 2600. It got 2 slots for PC133 RAM. So despite this, I helped this computer to became a decent one and I just spent on this set of RAM. Of course, you could also buy a GT610 (PCI version) and it will work much better. I have a GT610 on that PC with windows 2003 server everything works like a charm. I can recommend it.
Note: older motherboards won't work with this set of RAM. Intel 440BX motherboards for example. Those come with more slots (maybe 4) but each slot is limited to 256MB of low density ram. ***This review was posted on:*** (Posted on 05/06/2014)

Works Perfectly Review by Timothy N. Couch
I had an older computer that I wanted to update and do something with, rather than just getting rid of it. The mother board only had 3 memory slots, and held a max of 1.5Gb of RAM. It was less expensive to buy two of these two packs, than it was to buy a two pack and a single. The RAM works great. I've had no problems with it, and am very happy. If you need to add more RAM to an aging computer, This is the way to go. ***This review was posted on:*** (Posted on 05/06/2014)

Good Memory for a fussy old comp0uter Review by Desert KnuckleHead
After visiting several other sites looking for RAM for an older IBM desktop and being warned about how fussy IBM machines are about RAM chips, I found the KomputerBay store on Amazon... price was significantly better than other sites, so I figured "nothing ventured, nothing gained."
After more than a month of steady hard use, no problems at all from the "Fussy Old IBM" desktop... excellent value, solid performance... so good, in fact, that I bought more RAM (of a different type) for a different machine from KomputerBay and have had no issues with that after three weeks of 24/7 use. ***This review was posted on:*** (Posted on 05/06/2014)
Never thought it would happen! Review by S. Davies
Retired and have an old Dell Dimension 2300 in my basement and use it quite a bit (considering!) Not being very computer literate, I looked at upgrading the ram; even with DSL it was like dial up!; and was told 512 (total RAM) was all you could do. I called Dell again and the guy I got in India said yes you can go to 1g with 2 512 chips unfortunately they don't sell them anymore. . A local PC shop wanted $185 for the 2 chips.... Another shop told me they probably won't work. I took a gamble and ordered them and " Viola" I have DSL again. If you have an old Dell, Go for it! ***This review was posted on:*** (Posted on 05/06/2014)
Squeeze New Life Out From Old Boxes Review by frankp93 "frankp93"
8 years ago I bought one of those under-$200 Microtel PC's sold by a major retailer as a second PC for my wife. She finally upgraded and I inherited the box. At 800 Mhz, the machine is still useful as a Linux box, backup server, isolated malware lab, etc. I'd forgotten it came with only 128 MB of RAM but fortunately the VIA chipset supports up to 1GB.
If you have an old machine many of the memory sellers on Amazon have a feature on their sites that will scan your chipset and tell you the max supported memory.
You just know when they snap in place just right that they're going to work and that was the case here. Fired right up.
At around $35 for two 512's, it's a good price for a domestic seller. To tell the truth, I wouldn't have spent more than $40 with off-brand PC's so cheap these days.
Feeling nostalgic for the good old days? Upgrade that baby, blow the dust off those OS2 Warp diskettes, and start feeding 'em in! ***This review was posted on:*** (Posted on 05/06/2014)

Just what I needed, Review by bkaston
I have an extremely old Dell (Dimension 4300) that had 2 128Mg strips. I didn't want to spend a lot to see if I could get any more life out of it. I tried loading Linux to see if that would speed it up and it did slightly but I was having trouble networking it with another Windows based computer. The prices in the stores for comparable memory was about $50 for 256Mg so I decided to give it a try. I installed the 2 512Mg strips yesterday when they arrived and wha-la. This machine is back in business. I reloaded the original WinXP and all updates to SP3. I hope my kids will quit complaining for a while since this thing screams compared to what it did before. Thanks a bunch Komputerbay. ***This review was posted on:*** (Posted on 05/06/2014)

Does what it is supposed to do Review by T. McGuire "drtjmc"
I had an old Dell with 512MB RAM on which I run Linux, and really needed to bump it up to 1GB to run the apps I wanted. PC133 memory is getting a little difficult to find, and some vendors really charge a premium for it. For the price, this looked right. I popped it in, it worked fine, and I've extended the working life of my system for 2 or 3 years at minimal expense. Of course, you will need to make sure that your machine requires PC133 memory, or you will have wasted your time/money. ***This review was posted on:*** (Posted on 05/06/2014)

Not sure if it is good or not Review by darthgumby
I ordered this RAM from Komputerbay about a month ago, and it shipped out fine. I recieved it quickly, and it was said to be a brand new stick. The problem was that it was a bad stick. The computer kept crashing at random times at startup with memory errors. I sent the stick back with their required paperwork to get a replacement. It had been a week and a half before I had dedcided to write to them and ask about my order, which had not been looked into yet. A few days after that they said that my replacemen was being shipped, but now it's been over a week and I still haven't been given any information as to if it was shipped, no tracking numbers, or when to expect it. They were very vague in their customer response as well. I liked their prices, but if I had knew it was going to take this long and involve this much trouble I would have just paid a few extra dollars to order from someone else ***This review was posted on:*** (Posted on 05/06/2014)
Only One Third Pleased Review by ga0735
I ordered three 512MB SDRAM DIMM Komputerbay memory sticks to upgrade RAM in my old Gateway desk top computer. Shipping was quick, and packaging was faultless; however, the package only contained two of the three memory sticks that I'd ordered. Amazon refunded the cost of the missing memory stick, and I ordered a replacement from Komputerbay; Amazon even comped the shipping cost. Once again, shipping was quick and the packaging was great. Now, with three memory sticks in-hand, I opened my computer and did the upgrade. NUTS, only one of the three memory sticks worked! Following instructions, I returned the two bad memory sticks, and Amazon refunded the cost.
Komputerbay prices, speed, and packaging are all good, and I'm a patient person, but all that messing around for only one third of the memory sticks I needed? Their prices and my patience are not enough reason for me to ever order any more memory from Komputerbay ***This review was posted on:*** (Posted on 05/06/2014)
Wrong memory Review by Suzan
This memory is mislabeled and/or miss-advertised. The memory module had 9 chips instead of 8 on arrival and can damage a PC if the PC requires 128MB 168-pin PC133 SDRAM DIMM as this vendor advertises. A quick look at the photos of other vendors selling this memory upgrade shows it should have only 8 chips with a space in the middle as did comparing it to the existing memory already in my PC.
Warning: Look over memory carefully and do not just rely on the specs.
This experience was very troubling as this vendor warns against using the wrong memory and the damage it can cause and then sends the wrong memory that does not match the specs.
While the other reviews were so positive I can only wonder if the vendor is carefully checking the memory before shipping it out and what could have happened.
Customer service was at a minimum. My printer died so I couldn't print out the return label and only after I offered to pay for the cost of receiving the shipping label did the vendor accept and use my self addressed stamp envelope. The vendor did send me the label, and that was the last I heard. No apology for my time and frustration was forthcoming. (I'm annoyed that I spent two stamps on this vendor's mistake).
Amazon customer service was great and refunded my purchase. ***This review was posted on:*** (Posted on 05/06/2014)

Quality out of control Review by Eric Bello
I'm giving this product a bad rating because I ordered 2 sets of 1 GB which equals 4 sticks of 512 MB- of that only 3 worked properly. I therefore returned 1 set and ordered another since the ones that worked were fine for my old KK266plus-r. The next set arrived with yet another stick DOA. Symptoms included BSOD on startup and shutdown, inability to boot to Win XP or safe mode, and a full screen of red errors with memtest86. Believe it or not I sent that back and ordered one more set because the ones that work are fine (which is why I gave it 2 rather than 1 star) and I don't want to spend much more on this old computer and I'm hoping the third time's a charm. There was a fair amount of time wasted in troubleshooting and waiting for replacements. However, if it's not a mission-critical project it might still be worth considering for the price. And so far returns to Amazon have been easy. Just beware that you cannot simply "exchange" this product- you need to return it for a refund and re-order ***This review was posted on:*** (Posted on 05/06/2014)
