Great value for money ram Review by George
I was a bit sceptical about how reliable this would be so i ran extensive men tests only to find that there is no problem at all with it and the performance is equivalent to known brands. Would buy it again ***This review was posted on:*** (Posted on 13/06/2014)

KomputerBay DDR3 PC3-12800 1600MHz Quad Channel RAM, Review by kaspencer
8Gbyte DDR3 RAM strips are very expensive, and not all that easy to come by. So naturally, I was pleased to see that KomputerBay could supply these in matched pairs and matched quartets for 16Gbyte or 32Gbyte total RAM.

I had previously bought 4x2Gbyte, and 4x4Gbyte RAM from KomputerBay for two previous projects for an 8Gbyte and a 16Gbyte PC respectively. Now I needed 4x8Gbyte for my latest PC, which would need 32Gbyte DDR3 RAM in four 8Gbyte strips. My motherboard was to be the ASUS P8H67-M Pro. This board was stated to be equipped for 32Gbyte RAM but there were no suppliers listed on the ASUS Qualified Vendor List [QVL] when I ordered it. It was stated that Unbuffered, Non-EEC RAM was required.

A search revealed that KomputerBay had just such RAM strips available. I confess that, in view of the absence of suitable vendors on the QVL, I was a little concerned that finding suitable RAM might be difficult, expensive or both. So rather than order all four 8Gbyte strips at once, I would order just two, just to test the water and reduce my risk.

The first pair of 8Gbyte strips arrived a couple of days later, and when I finished building the PC I slotted the RAM into place. A few tests revealed that the RAM seemed to be working without a problem, on the standard clocking of the board and CPU. So I immediately ordered a second pair of strips from KomputerBay, and had them installed by the afternoon of the next day. All seemed to be well! I must also report that KomputerBay were even kind enough to refund the small price increase that occurred between the two separate orders.

This RAM is declared to be eXtreme Memory Profile [XMP] compliant. XMP is an Intel creation which enables RAM used with a compatible CPU and motherboard to be clocked at a higher rate. According to the ASUS motherboard manual, there should be a special XMP option to setup the overclocking, but that option has not been visible in the pulldown list up to the time of writing this review. However, I have yet to do more research because the RAM is recognised as being XMP compliant by the BIOS, because some additional manually adjustable settings are given against the RAM strips, incorporating the XMP characterisitcs of the timings and clock speed. As the PC has had to be left switched on and in use for the past several days since building was complete, I have not yet had a chance to investigate this aspect any further, but I shall do so as soon as I can take the PC down. I will report any findings in due course.

An so to summarise: if you are looking for 8Gbyte DDR3 RAM strips for your desktop or server PC, these DIMMs from KomputerBay are highly competitively priced and work properly in a Non-EEC, unbuffered motherboard environment, and are supplied in a speedy and well packaged manner.

just Good ram for a good price Review by Cubanczyk80
Since there was no reviews on internet i was a little bit sceptical about that product - However everything is good - ram working perfectly on 1600mhz.
Even contact with Komputerbay was very good. ***This review was posted on:*** (Posted on 13/06/2014)

A good purchase, Review by Mr. LJ KENDRICK
No issues with thus purchase.
I did expect to get what I paid for. Other reviews were positive, so I thought "why not?"
The ram works perfectly. Looks nice in its little black jacket.
It arrived on the specified day in complete packaging.
For what its had to cope with so far, if it was going to stop working, I think it would have before now. ***This review was posted on:*** (Posted on 13/06/2014)
Not compatible with my motherboard Review by Pete-to-Beat
Bought these to upgrade my Asus P8P67 Pro memory. Looked good quality at a good price, but sadly could not be found by the motherboard, even making use of the onboard auto memory tuning button.
The handbook suggested I replace the DIMMs with ones recommended in the Memory QVL (Qualified Vendors Lists. At Twice the price, hopefully they will work! ***This review was posted on:*** (Posted on 13/06/2014)

Hit and miss. Review by Christopher
I've bought quite a lot of RAM from Komputerbay this year, their 1600MHz Desktop Memory Kits I shall be giving a miss from now on. I've had 3 sets fail in the last month. The customer service seems good but the product is poor and the savings in cost no longer seems to justify the extended aggravation. ***This review was posted on:*** (Posted on 13/06/2014)

Good but Mhz not 1600 Review by Shurshik
For the moment everything works great, all details of my PC are new and I didn`t get any problem to merge them, this is my first Pc made by me :) Will update it if something goes wrong.

Update: after some week Windows set my memory to 1300MHz, I read already about this issue with Komputerbay ram. May be its ok, I don`t know. ***This review was posted on:*** (Posted on 13/06/2014)
Blue Screen of Death Review by Brian
This RAM worked really well for the first 2 weeks and then suddenly: the dreaded Blue Screen. Initially I thought it was the hard drive that failed, so I tried to boot up into linux with a live usb key. No luck. I was fairly sure the CPU and the mother board were ok, but I changed my overclocking setting back to the stock AMD configuration just in case. Still no luck... Finally I decided to replace the 16GB Komputerbay RAM with the 4GB that came with the PC and et voila it all worked again. I got the product refunded. ***This review was posted on:*** (Posted on 13/06/2014)

Does exactly what it says on the tin. Review by A. Tompkins
This is the second set of RAM that I have purchased by Komputerbay from Delivery was next day which is stunning considering I live in the Channel Islands.
This set of RAM was for my main workstation, going into an Asus P8P67 Pro. This board tends to be fussy about RAM but the Komputerbay stuff has been working flawlessly for a couple of weeks now. I'm super impressed.
What can I say? High capacity and great value, what's not to like? Komputerbay, my VMs thank you :) ***This review was posted on:*** (Posted on 13/06/2014)
Excellent price for an excellent item Review by Jamie
I was slightly worried about buying what is essentially an un-branded product but the price was so good, I'd thought I'd take the risk. The memory feels of a good quality and works absolutely fine. I've had it installed for a couple of months without any problems. I would definitely recommend it. ***This review was posted on:*** (Posted on 13/06/2014)
Works fine on AMD X6 / 990 system Review by bojan
I bought this RAM in order to max out my PC workstation. The brand name of this RAM isn't all that familiar, but this shouldn't detract you from purchasing it. I've had no problems with it running in my AMD system (X6 1055T processor and a Gigabyte board based on the 990 chipset). ***This review was posted on:*** (Posted on 13/06/2014)

32Gb PC3-12800 DDR3 QUAD CHANNEL MEMORY KIT Review by Amazon Customer
Having taken the plunge of a complete rebild after a hdd failure, I decided to upgrade my RAM to the largest possible amount.

As with all things computer there were far too many options.

First thing was that I didn't need to overclock but most of all I was on a budget.

I dicovered the Komputerbay RAM from a search engine and I have to say was scepticle about the RAM as it was so cheap. As they say in Yorkshire - "the' diven't get owt for nowt lad"

I read the reviews on Amazon and they were generally positive.

Ordered the Komputerbay 32GB (4x 8GB) DDR3 PC3-12800 1600MHz DIMM with Black Low Profile Heatspreaders 240-Pin Dual / Quad Channel RAM Desktop Memory KIT 10-10-10-27 XMP ready which arrived very quickly.

Put the RAM in and built the system.

Things were OK @ first but then I had random freezing which only a power off cleared.

At this point I was thinking DOH there was a catch !!

However I changed the timing in the BIOS to be slightly lower than on the label and all was well :-)

After a few days of no problems, I then changed the BIOS to auto identify the RAM, the timings changed to those on the label and it worked and is still working perfectly !!!

Having been involved with computing since Bill Gates was a twinkle in his Dad's eye, I have learnt that these things happen and there isn't always an obvious logical explanation.

In summary: To date very happy with RAM and service from Komputerbay and would use them again ***This review was posted on:*** (Posted on 13/06/2014)

Memory Review Review by tim
My old PC board failed after 6 years of light use so I took the plunge and built an Asus P9x79Pro with an Intel i7-3820 CPU at 3.6GHz 64-bit windows Pro Os (watercooled)
I chose these DDR3 memory modules based on them being 8GB per module and the cost. I was a little nervous about whether they would work as they are not on the Qualified Vendor List for the board. I took a chance and bought 2*8GB
When I built the PC and switched it on it all booted up ok and in windows it shows 16GB total Physical memory in Task Manager
Would recommend ***This review was posted on:*** (Posted on 13/06/2014)
The Impotence of being Earnest Review by Gaarghoile
The computer industry is now a mature market whereby most of the components we buy are within a certain defined price patch which we see as being ... "The Market?" It is a very rare event when this ... situation is challenged by a new entrant. I suspect the ram memory market is like a comfortable old boys club where nothing much changes and we having accepted this arthriticially inclined status quo and conform to the prevailing consensus and buy what we have to get by on at the prices fixed by this calcified establishment. The demand of the market has been depressed its just like I remember the rationing of everything we endured just after the War - a relic of the world of never enough.

Sometimes the game changes into a contest when a new player arrives and Komputerbay is such a catalyst - a relief - a new source of supply its in the shops its really for sale why not welcome our new friends they are prepared to give to receive we must welcome this improvement and give and take just as they have - with us! My computer works fine its become very speedy and boots up like its on steriods you could say I have been waiting my whole digital life to have a computer that flies like this. ***This review was posted on:*** (Posted on 13/06/2014)

Purchased this for a new Workstation build, 4 x 8GB sticks to give a 32GB total.
I was a little hesitant at first seeing as it was a lesser-known brand, but have no regrets. Have been using my machine without a hitch for the last 3 months, maxing out the RAM on many occasions running multiple VM's, never any issues. ***This review was posted on:*** (Posted on 13/06/2014)

Only 24GB worked, replacement OK, Review by Michael Pritchard "blueghost_uk
First of all memory was auto-detected as only 1333, this was by the motherboard and CPU-Z also said max was 1333. I could over clock it but chose not to - the speed isn't too essential to me. Secondly only 3 of the sticks worked properly, when trying with the 4th windows refused to install. after installing windows with only 8GB of the ram i gradually added more modules. I could get it to 24GB but the final module refused to work (either on its own as a single 8GB module or with any of the others installed) - just got blue screen or if windows booted it crashed after about 10 seconds.

The 24GB have worked flawlessly otherwise, I have ordered a replacement set to see if it was a one off, will update review after that.

Was tested on Asus P8Z77-V motherboard with Windows 7 ultimate and windows server 2008r2 standard, both of which support 32GB RAM.

UPDATE: Got second lot, this lot all 32GB works and at the 1600 rated speed automatically so the first set must have been messed up some how ***This review was posted on:*** (Posted on 13/06/2014)
HP Proliant MicroServer N40L - not compatible, Review by Miguel
Got these to replace the Kingston 2x4GB I have on my N40L.

Conscious that not all memory would work on it, I've tried them anyway.

Unfortunately in this case they did not. The HP logo doesn't light up and the machine never boots.

Replaced them back with my 2x4GB and all worked again.

Will give the more expensive 9-9-9-25 a go next, as I've seen someone's review that it worked for them. ***This review was posted on:*** (Posted on 13/06/2014)

first done the crucial scan and found silly price, searched amazon and found komputerbay equivelant product much cheaper, bought the 2 x 8gb and fitted easy along with 8bg already in pc, ran all the checks, and the window index rose to 7.9 for memory ram, fantastic, at first it kept dropping 4 gb, swapped slotts and so far no problems returned, would recommend to anyone, ***This review was posted on:*** (Posted on 13/06/2014)

No problems whatsoever, great price Review by Daz
It's no secret that buying unbranded PC parts is generally not wise, but seeing as the cost saving was significant and I'm comfortable running memtest myself I figured it was worth a go, as it's through Amazon if there were any issues I could just return the RAM. I must say though I am very impressed, I have bought both a 16GB and a 32GB set, ran both through 12 hours memtest86 and found no errors. They have both been running 24x7 for over a month now and I've had no issues, very pleased. ***This review was posted on:*** (Posted on 13/06/2014)

Awesome value RAM Review by Zarn Smith "zarn_smith
Purchased to install into an Asus Maximus V Gene motherboard, stock clocks. Computer booted up first time and the RAM passed all the tests that could be chucked at it.

This isn't the first time I have purchased Komputerbay items and they seem to be putting the "named" brands to shame by selling working products at much cheaper prices. Although the first batch of RAM ordered did not arrive, there was a no quibble refund of the order and by the time I got round to reordering the RAM dropped down in price :)

UPDATE: Unfortunately the RAM started failing tests so it has been returned. ***This review was posted on:*** (Posted on 13/06/2014)

At first it worked Review by W. Kurth
When I first put it in, it seemed to be fine. I ran memtest and it had a few small errors, especially on the second stick, but basically ok. After a few weeks the drive crashed. I wrote it off to a bad drive or install and reloaded. Just put in 8 gigs at start since 16 gigs didn't register. I must have lucked out putting the good stick in first because it ran very well for a few months. Then I replaced the second stick since I was about to do some memory-intensive work and again, the second stick did not register. I cleaned out the slot with air and now bios showed 16BG. After a few hours the drive crashed again. Bought a new drive since the 4 month old one now made buzzing noises and put in only one stick- the good original, but that seemed to be squirrely now too. Changed memory and have not looked back. I won't even sell this on fleabay since I cannot guarantee it. ***This review was posted on:*** (Posted on 13/06/2014)
