I needed to upgrade a toshiba satellite with more RAM. I went to Crucial and I was misinformed. I bought ram that did not work for my toshiba from another company. I then saw this product that stated it would indeed work for toshibas, and it does. I plugged it in and it worked like a charm. Where it was initially the price that attracted me to this item from komputerbay, in future it will be the quality of build and reliability. You may think purchasing cheaper RAM from a company which is not very well known or one of the main manufacturers is risky, and it often can be. I chose this RAM as I was upgrading my late 2008 unibody Macbook on a budget and for this price you really cannot go wrong. it works just as well as memory from any respected brand and I have seen a great improvement in performance since installing it a few months ago. I had a 2GB setup for a 2009 mac mini, installed 8GB of ram from Komputerbay, and now its freezing bad. It took me a month to install it, so now I cannot return it. I swap back to the old ram, and it works fine. I have tried to reseat it about 10 times. So I have a:
Model Family: MacBook Pro
Processor: 2.8GHz Core 2 Duo (T9600)
RAM: 4GB PC3-8500 SODIMM
I felt it about time to upgrade the RAM to 8GB, as I've recently doing more stuff with the Mac.
The package came quickly as it usually does with Amazon and I went ahead and replaced the existing 4GB with the 8GB received. Needless to say, my Mac wouldn't boot at all. It forces the Mac into a loop boot stating "Your computer restarted because of a problem, hit a key to continue".
I then thought maybe it's the Mac, so replaced the original chips and they allowed the Mac to boot fine. Then I tried one chip at a time and that caused the same endless loop!

My Macbook is a 15" late 2008 which is supposed to have a maximum supported memory of 4gb. Reading on the forums Apple had released a firmware update during 2012 and after this late 2008 unibodied Macbooks can support 8gb of ram and this has proved to be the case. After installing the memory upgrade I performed a test on the memory and all is ok, so as I say, very pleased.

Apple examined the machine and found no fault other than the RAM, which was third party so they couldn't comment on it exactly.

I ordered this for my MacBook Pro - carefully checking it was the correct RAM for my model. After installation, I got three beeps and no booting. It would only boot after I put my original RAM back in. Not only didn't it work, the one they sent as a replacement, also didn't work. Was looking to speed my macbook up using ram and an ssd, best idea ever. Mac is almost like new, so much faster and can play games it used to struggle with on it now. I ordered this to use with my Mid 2010 Macbook Pro 13". Although working the first few hours, it eventually started causing kernel panics and crashes of various programs. What more to say, amazing value, works flawlessly in my iMac, I just plugged it in and have had no troubles since! So I have had a 2010 15" Macbook Pro for the past 3 years using it as my sole computer. Being a Graphic Designer I have used the creative suit for the computers entire life but in recent times have began to delve a little deeper using more memory intensive features such as 3d. This is when my trusty Mac started to show it's age, so I finally decided to max out the ram and go for this these 2x4gb cards. I have been using the ram for a month or so now carrying out some very heavy work and it has made a huge difference in the speed of processes and also the reliability of applications. My Macbook Pro absolutely thrashes my similarly aged iMac at work running 4gb ram and a similar processor.Rating

So, I own a mid-2010 15" Core i5 Macbook Pro and had recently upgraded it to OS X Mavericks from Snow Leopard and noticed it was running a lot slower than usual and all of my available 4GB of RAM was being used up due to the new memory management policy of Mavericks. It was obvious that I needed a RAM upgrade and I searched around for a while for RAM that would be compatible with my machine. I considered Ram memory upgrades 8GB kit (4GBx2) DDR3 PC3 8500 1067Mhz for your Apple iMac computer but it was a bit more expensive and also delayed for delivery before stumbling on this. Shipping was fast as usual and when I installed the RAM my Mac booted up without any issues. I can honestly say that for any reasonably demanding user, particularly in graphics software, you cannot provide yourself with a better upgrade than the full complement of RAM that your laptop supports and I can say without reservation that this RAM has done the job!

I used this Crucial memory to upgrade a Mac Mini, as even though this memory is advertised as being for an iMac and MacBook Pro, it is also used in the Mini. If you fancy giving this a go, consult the iFixit website for some really good instructions on how to do it. It's not too difficult if you have the right tools. I used the memory selector from the Crucial website to find the compatible type and then found Komputerbay selling it via Amazon at a slightly cheaper pricing, including delivery. I needed to max out the RAM in my late 2008 MacBook Pro. I had 2x2 GB, but read on everymac.com that this model would work unofficially with 8GB, provided it had the latest firmware update, and OS X 10.7 minimum. Mine was up to date, so I got this set, installed it, worked without a hitch. The whole system is now more responsive, especially Photoshop and Lightroom.
A week later I installed a Samsung EVO 840 250GB, now it's even faster.

I noticed an immediate performance boost when using OSX Mavericks. You can have lots and lots of applications open without seeing the rotating colour wheel.
Arrived on time and was very easy to install (YouTube has a good how-to) but make sure you check compatibility on web.
