Unfortunately this RAM didn't work with T22 IBM or with a hp omnibook. Both laptops refused to boot and made POST error bips. When I replaced this RAM everything worked fine again.

Bought this in hope as my little lap top was struggling the work with just 64mb ram. No one knew what my computer was, let alone what it needed. It wasn't until CPU ID was able to identify the motherboard as a UNIWILL 340S2 1AAJG that I was able to make progress as these MBs were used in quite a lot of differently branded machines. I was then able to find a manual online that told me the exact type of RAM I needed, but I had to take a gamble on what it could take. The packet arrived with my two lots of 256mb, well within the estimated time of arrival and much to my surprise and delight not only fitted but installed straight away. We wanted to upgrade an old laptop with some extra memory but did not want to spend too much money. As the laptop is old in IT terms we were very pleased to find a reasonably priced memory card that was compatible. It was delivered quickly, was exactly as described, was immediately recognised by the OS and has improved the performance of the laptop. We have since bought a SDHC card from the same company and once again, quick delivery, instant recognition by the OS and we achieved our goals at a very reasonable price. Not much more to be said. Do not try if you don't know if your system is compatible Review by Nick

While at first glance, it may be in your best interest to shop around, know that when you purchase RAM from Komputerbay, you're getting Grade-F brand name computer memory. Other computer memory while possibly being incompatible - can cause your computer to work faster, fit two sticks in the same computer, and even avoid damaging your motherboard!

This product failed to work with my Dell Latitude CPi (pentium II) and whilst incompatibility is excusable for an old laptop, what isn't excusable is being so unfit for purpose, that the original 64MB stick of RAM didn't even work after I put that back in. All three keyboard indicator lights stayed on whenever it was turned on and there was no display on the screen. And to add to that, the module is so poorly designed that it is bigger than the older one and therefore is not only hard to fit in the memory slot, but takes up room that would be used for another stick in the other memory slot.

After hitting the motherboard with a screwdriver for a while, it actually started working again on the old memory, until I tried the new memory again at which point it has never worked again.

And to finish it off... the memory didn't even have the 'Komputerbay' sticker on it that was shown in the product image. Oh, and the chips aren't Samsung ones like in the picture, they're cheap unbranded ones.

I tried the RAM in a (slightly) newer laptop, this time with an Athlon XP processor and it worked straight away and passed memtest86. So it seems that it works perfectly if the system will be compatible and breaks the computer if it is not. The ideal choice for upgrading the memory in my Brother HL3040CN, with a standard installation of only 32MB. Which is to weak for color printing in quality and quantity. The option of ZMEHL4000DIMM256MB 256MB SO-DIMM (144pin) 358,99 or 306.91 GBP by Brother Europe, is a total rip off ! .Take my advice the memory works perfect and stable. The money you save this way, can be used to buy also refill toner. That is also big business for Brother!. Buy the way please do not misunderstand my opinion of the printer, also a great buy. The memory is a first choice, have bought 2GB for my synology ds 1511+ also from Komputerbay.

Oh Brother - What a good memory you have! Review by Tim Ngyou "timboid"

This RAM module was perfect for expanding the Brother HL-3040CN Colour Laser printer I recently purchased. Since this printer does not have PCL emulation, it instead uses GDI for rendering larger print files. Although this means the host PC does all the work, it still means that fairly large files can get sent to the printer, particularly if you want to print at the higher 1200dpi resolution. Putting more memory into the printer thus eliminates the 'out of memory' issues I was getting.

The only down-side of installing such a large chunk of memory is that the printer now spends an extra 30 seconds or so counting and checking the amount of RAM whenever it is switched on. Small price to pay in my books.

Two 512 MB sticks of memory bought to upgrade a 9 year old Siemens Fujitsu Lifebook laptop. Upgraded from 256 MB of memory to 1 GB. Simple job .
1.. remove battery to ensure no power to device.
2.. unscrew screw on underside of notebook (marked Keyboard)
3.. wearing antistat wristband and ground notebook (the securing screws for DB25 printer port will do for this)
4.. carefully lift up keyboard edge nearset to front, being carefull not to damage or displace ribbon cable.
5.. remove securing screw on metal plate at right of keyboard cavity making sure not to drop it into the notebook.
6.. lift plate from furthest edge from front, carefull here, there are two locating lugs on near edge of this plate.
7.. remove existing module (s) by releaseing the retaining clips
8.. insert new modules.
9.. reassemble in reverst order.

Bought this memory for a Samsung V25 laptop. Original memory was only 0.5Gb so I bought this 512Mb to double it up. On opening the laptop I found that it had both slots used with 2x256Mb sticks. I removed one of the 256Mb modules and popped in the 512Mb. It booted up fine & I had 750Mb. I then bought a second 512Mb to replace the original 256Mb module. The laptop would not boot. Whatever I did I could not get the laptop to start with the new stick. So I replaced it with the original 256Mb stick and I was back to my 750Mb memory. I think the problem was certainly with the laptop and not the Komputerbay stick. I returned the stick and was refunded very quickly. Great product from a good company. I ordered the 512MB for my Brother HL-3040 CN; it arrived next day as promised and works as expected. I had a picture that was giving me an 'out of memory' error when trying to print. I put this memory in (reading the instructions in the Brother manual), and when switching on the printer, it counted the memory and printed the picture first time. This RAM popped into my supposedly obsolete Ti powerbook 667, so now with a replaced fast (cheap, second hand, 7200 rpm) HD and hacking a G4 only Mac OS 10.5 onto it (Apple won't let my Mac install my own purchased operating system on this machine because of its clock speed - idiots) I have a perfectly serviceable machine over a decade on! Works perfectly in Dell Latitude C610. Fitted two of these 512MB modules giving maximum of 1GB that the machine can handle. FWIW that these modules contain 8 off 32M x 16 unbranded chips with no timing information on them, and the label does not show the CAS times. This is a very affordable memory module for Brother printers. We bought a Brother HL3040CN that came with only 32 MB of non-removable memory. For regular text documents this sufficed, but when you have large documents with images to print and share the printer with colleagues or family 32 MB just isn't enough.

Booting the printer takes a little longer with the 512MB-module installed because all memory is checked during the power on self test. When the test is completed, your printer has 544MB of available memory, which should more than cover the needs of even a crowded office. Bought this for my Brother HL-3040N colour laser printer.

It was the cheapest one on Amazon from a UK supplier (which makes a big difference) and I am very pleased with it. The upgraded RAM has allowed me to print much larger files and avoid the 'Lack of Memory' issue that I was having. It was easy to fit and did exactly what I wanted it to do.

I recently upgraded the version of my Internet provider's system and it proved to be a step too far for my trusty XP laptop. As I needed to keep the system going for a little while longer (I planned to purchase a new laptop once the support for XP is withdrawn in April 2014) I decided to have a go at upgrading the memory. I am not very technical but managed to find a couple of websites that offered the correct memory modules, despite the age of the computer. However, as this purchase was only viewed as a stop-gap I did not want to pay a great deal. As a final check I popped on to Amazon and discovered Komputerbay were selling the modules I needed at a much better price than industry-recognised sites.
Although an unknown company, I decided that being under the Amazon umbrella was good enough and purchased two boards from them. Four weeks on, my system is running very well and I have had no problems at all. In fact, since my upgrade, Microsoft have announced a slight reversal of the threatened withdrawal of support for XP, so my (Posted on 10/06/2014)

My Brother 5280DW laser printer seemed to get confused and forgot what it was supposed to be printing. Having tried just about all the options... different computer, new printer cable, etc. I came to the conclusion that the printer was at fault. The obvious culprit was the on-board memory, probably objecting to only having 32mb and being continually re-written to. I saw this 512mb memory unit staring at me from the screen, and being specific to this range of printer, I just had to order it. It arrived promptly and well packaged. In no time it was installed and being tested. YEA! The printer worked just as it should have done. And proved my diagnosis... Brill! Thankyou, Komputerbay.
